Happy New Year 2025!

Over the past several months, we have loved sharing our blog, focusing on education and empowerment to help individuals live their best lives. Our mission has always been to inspire confidence, style, and grace at every stage of life. As we planned for 2025, we explored various topics centered on health and wellness to support others in becoming the best version of themselves. However, with nearly 60 years of combined experience in nursing and healthcare, we took a closer look at the challenges facing the nursing profession today. This reflection has inspired us to shift our focus and dedicate our efforts to supporting nurses and addressing the unique needs of those who care for others.

There are nearly 29 million nurses globally (WHO, 2024), with 4.7 million practicing in the United States (AACN, 2024). Since the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare systems have been grappling with establishing a new normal, and nursing, in particular, has faced significant challenges. Many nurses continue to experience anxiety, depression, and concerns about their health and the well-being of their families (Chan et al., 2021).

The International Council of Nursing (2024) highlights persistent issues, including unsafe staffing levels, inadequate pay, workplace violence, and poor working conditions. In the United States, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA, 2024) reports additional challenges such as workforce shortages, burnout, mental health struggles, declining job satisfaction, and an aging workforce.

The absence of sufficient, well-supported healthcare professionals—primarily nurses—poses serious risks. These include poor patient outcomes, reduced continuity of care, diminished interprofessional collaboration, and increased pressure on an already strained healthcare system. Addressing these issues is vital to ensuring a sustainable healthcare system and the well-being of patients, nurses, and the nurses of tomorrow.

We believe nurses are compassionate, resilient, resourceful, and highly skilled professionals who dedicate themselves to providing exceptional care to others. However, to continue delivering this level of excellence, nurses must also prioritize their well-being. We aim to create a supportive and nurturing community where nurses can thrive and grow gracefully with love. We aim to celebrate the diversity of nursing roles and specialties, address leadership and professional development challenges, prepare for retirement, continue lifelong learning, and embrace health and wellness practices. By caring for ourselves, our profession, and one another, we can achieve personal fulfillment and professional success. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier nursing community.

We would love to hear from you and what topics you would like us to explore!
